We have had a busy few weeks here in school. From taking part in the Cross Country Championship to travelling to Space, we are enjoying every moment.
We had a great week celebrating Lá 'le Pádraig and Seachtain na Gaeilge. Have a look at some of the great things we did! 5th and 6th class took part in a very enjoyable and competitive Tráth na gCeist on Kahoot for Seachtain na Gaeilge. Go Green For UkraineWe wore green to support the people of Ukraine and to raise money for the charity Candle of Grace. Green FingersLook at how busy we are planting flowers, lettuce and strawberries for our school garden. Watch this space!!!
Engineers week was a busy one in our school. The children in the Junior Room did a great job designing and creating toys from recycled materials. A Very Special GuestImagine our delight when we were visited by this lovely lamb! We couldn't quite decide on a name for him so we gave him two. Liam and Bob. He really enjoyed coming to our school.
We had a magical day, drumming in the sun with Drumadore! Amber Flag CommitteeSome lovely ideas were discussed by our Amber Flag Committee at our recent meeting.
Health restrictions were lifted just in time for us to celebrate World Book Day together. The children in the Junior Room visited the children in the Senior Room for the first time ever!!! We had a great day dressing up as our favourite characters, a Where's Wally Hunt, some paired reading and a very enjoyable webinar with the author, Sarah Webb.
The Junior Room learned all about farm safety by watching a webinar with a lady called Alma. We are always very careful on farms. We also made some tomato bruschetta. It was delicious and very healthy. Mmmmmm, Projects on Ancient EgyptThe children in the middle room have been busy researching Ancient Egypt. We worked in pods. We shared our findings with the whole classroom. We enjoyed listening to each other.
We celebrated "Random Acts of Kindness Week". Monday was Valentine's Day so we got the week off to a great start when the teachers told us that we had no homework that day, We wrote some lovely messages for our Valentines on coffee cups we created. We told them we love them a 'latte'!!! The Place We Call HomeWe got a sneak peek of our film when Graham called to show us some aspects of the editing process. Our film looks fantastic so far and we can't wait to see the finished product! ChessOur online chess lessons with Eamonn are going really well.
