Hello! Welcome back to a new school year.
We would like to give a warm welcome to the new Junior Infants: Amelia, Ruth, Lilly, Beth, Sophia, Isabella and Caoimhe. All girls not a single boy! We would also like to welcome Mr. Sean Bourke, Partry.
Lots of thing have changed for the new school year 2018-2019. Ms. O’ Haire and Ms. Geraghty are teaching juniors, seniors and first. Ms. Muldoon is teaching second and third classes and Mr Bourke is teaching fourth, fifth and sixth. It is nice to have new layouts and teachers. The three classrooms were given a fresh coat of paint and the shelter was looking tired so it was given a face lift! The marmoleum floor was professionally polished and looks shiny and new like all our new things for school!
On a dull Monday morning in week two we had our first session of the year with Majella. Majella did fun drills with us which we enjoyed, then we went straight into a match. It was a great way to start off the week.
We held trials to see who would make the team for Cross Country which were held in Ballinrobe Racecourse on Thursday, the 13th of September. A lot of us were talking to our friends from different schools before we were going to race. Tom, Luke and Cliodhna got through to the next round which is going to be held in Ballina. We all had a great day.
The third week back at school started off disappointingly as our gaelic training with Majella had to be cancelled due to the bad weather. Storm Ali meant that we had no school on Wednesday. A lot of trees were knocked around the parish. Cordroon and Garacloon were blocked off. The Ploughing Championships in Screggan, Co. Offaly were postponed for one day for the first time in 87 years because of the weather. They added an extra day at the end to make up for it.

The children from the Junior room have been making some lovely Autumn Art.
