We welcome the new junior infants: Ali, Eoin, Kate, Martin, Mia and Saorlaith. They are all enjoying school so far. It was lovely to see them all playing and laughing with each other. We hope that they have a great time in their first year of school and forever more.
We were delighted to come back to a lovely school and we really appreciate all the things that have enhanced our school environment. Thank you to all the parents who organised and helped with the big spring clean, making our school a very bright and colourful place to be.

Cross Country
This week we have been preparing for the Cross Country which is held at Ballinrobe Race Course every year. We went down to the pitch twice this week to hold trials to see who will get onto the team. It is quite challenging to run because you want to pace yourself and conserve your stamina but at the same time try and keep up with the rest of the group. The older pupils (5th and 6th class) have to run around seven laps of the pitch which adds up to the distance of the race course, while the younger pupils run a considerably less distance of four laps. This is not as easy as it looks. We had a very successful year last year with Tom, Luke and Cliodhna qualifying and going through to Ballina so hopefully we will have more qualifiers this year. Good Luck Everyone!!!
