Mini Sevens
Wednesday morning was cloudy and cold. When we arrived in Cong, we put our bags in the home dugout and we also put on our gear. The girls’ first match was against Cloonliffen and we had an easy enough win. Then it was the boys’ turn. We played Kilmaine. Kilmaine was a tough side but the boys kept their focus and won the game by 12 points.
The girls’ next match was against Cong. The girls knew Cong would be a very tough side. It was a tough, tight first half but Cong dominated us in the second half. We lost by only a few points.
Soon after the boys played Tourmakeady. It was a hard-fought match. At half time we were two points up. Tourmakeady improved their skills in the second half and in the end, we lost by 2 points. We were happy to escape school for most of the day but disappointed to lose. There’s always next year.
