We did a lot a science this week. Declan from Science Ireland came to visit again on Tuesday 3rd October. This time, as it was Space Week, he demonstrated a 3D virtual reality tour of the eight planets....Mars, Venus, Earth, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. He showed us what would happen if the sun was a 1000 times bigger...BOOM. We really enjoyed looking at all the planets in detail.
An interesting fact we discovered was about the length of the jumps a person could do on each planet. Declan explained that planets have different gravities so jumping lengths are different. For example, if you could survive on the sun you would only be able to jump 3cm and on Uranus you would only be able to jump 1cm.

As part of space week 2017 our school has been included in TARA moon project. We will receive our unique image of the moon soon-how exciting!!!

Ms. O Haire’s room had great fun playing with the parachute and ball.
They have been working on the "The Gruffalo" story. The Junior and Senior Infants drew gruesome Gruffalos and they are on display in our hallway for all to see and scare!!!!
Ms Muldoon's room are making great progress with Scratch Junior on the iPads. Scratch is a form of animation and programming where you make characters move. Danny likes Scratch because you can change backgrounds and headings. Luke likes Scratch because you can make the characters move and talk to you.
The Senior room have been using the app "Seesaw" to upload work into their online e-folios. We each have a digital folder to put work into. You have to use the class Q.R. code to access the folders. It’s an exciting way of displaying our work.

Yesterday PE outside was fun. We were playing football and basketball. Everyone had a great time and we all kept getting shot after shot in the net. We love basketball.
John McMahon, the photographer, came on Thursday to take our photos. We all looked lovely.
